Including a programmable bypass looper into the board is a must for singing musicians, as it allows to activate different effect combinations with only a press of a button. The board here is built around the Disaster Area DPC-8EZ, which offers enough flexibility to put some effects before the amp's preamp and others to the amp's effects loop.
We installed a custom-built isolation transformer under the pedalboard to take care of a ground loop which resulted from using the amp’s FX loop. The custom box is built around the mighty Lehle LTHZ high-impedance transformer which can be found, for example, on their P-Split III. This is a simplified version without dual outputs or phase switch, but as a result, it now fits on a smaller enclosure and can easily be fitted under the board frame.
