Juliet Jonesin Sydän is a Finnish rock outlet which left its mark on our national musical DNA during the 80's and the 90's. The band did a comeback in 2014 and has been active ever since. The guitarist Kari Hyvärinen had a couple of old effects with him and he needed a board for them. The Keeley compressor and Mad Professor delay were added to round up the sonic palette.
The thumb rule is that the effect which is placed nearest to the amplifier stands out the most. Placing a wah pedal last in the chain is a great way to make it really cut through the band mix. In that way it can the wah act as a sort of "master filter" which affects everything that is placed before it in the chain, making the effect really prominent. This knowledge can also be used for the opposite effect: for example, if a phaser feels like it's overpowering everything else when placed after your drive pedals etc, try placing it nearer to the guitar and place an OD after it to smooth it out.
